About this work

Pillowcase with an insert of natural-colored Flemish bobbin lace. The repeating pattern consists of leaves grouped in semicircles. The circles are linked by a flat band. The motifs are made in linen stitch and connected by a lattice ground, a five-hole ground. Remains of a letter mark. Band closure. The case was probably made around the end of the 18th century, the bobbin lace at the beginning of the 18th century.
