About this work

Cotton print fragment with the decoration "bird-catching pair". Pattern in natural colors in three scenes, from bottom to top: 1. A stream with a plank, behind which a girl walking away, with a shepherd's hat on her head and a stick with a birdcage over her shoulder, and a tapering boy holding a pigeon in his hat for her. 2. A stream with a stony bank on which two lying sheep and a ram, above which on a tree branch a floral wreath hanging on ribbons. 3. A searching hunting dog at a fence with climbing rose and a flowering lilac bush. Note: pattern in the manner of Herbert Robert.
