About this work
Armchair from a set of ten chairs and four armchairs of partly solid and partly veneered mahogany on an elm core. Loose upholstered seats. The square back legs lean backwards. Nine chairs and an armchair have square front legs, slightly rounded at the front; the rest have round turned front legs like this one. The straight S-shaped backs have a carved frieze with a palmette flanked by two facing swans with their necks bent back. The flat volute-shaped armrests run high into the back.
