About this work

Chair from a set of ten chairs and four armchairs, partly solid and partly veneered mahogany on an elm core. Loose upholstered seats. The square rear legs splay backwards. Nine chairs and one armchair have square front legs, slightly rounded at the front; the rest have round, jointed front legs. The elongated S-shaped backs feature a carved cross-rail with a palmette flanked by two facing swans with their necks bent back. The flat volute-shaped armrests run high into the back.
