About this work

Strip or valance of green satin with Chinese embroidery. Within a three-sided border, arranged horizontally: pot with paper rolls and brushes, tall square cases, a tree, a brazier, a tall vase with flower branches around which an elephant winds, a stool with a teapot (or wine kettle), a flat dish with plants, and a large vase on a stand. Animated in between with butterflies, a bat, and other animals, further letters and two stamps on the left.
