Strip of an alb of needle lace with pomegranates and feathers and centrally a scallop shell

Albe strip of natural-coloured needle lace: Sedan lace. Pattern with large and richly decorated motifs in the form of, among others, pomegranates and feathers with a hexagonal picoted mesh ground. The pattern is symmetrical with respect to the St. James shell in the middle at the top of the albe. The rich decorations in the motifs are made with various different patterns by means of cut-outs in the solid work. Here and there festooned relief contour lines. The upper edge is edged with a border of bobbin lace and reinforced with a woven strip. The scalloped edge at the bottom results from the pattern. Also scallops along the left side, the right side is cut off with a wavy line.
