About this work
The inscription CHZ indicates that this tureen originates from the Churfürstliche Hof Zöhrgaden (electoral store room) in Munich. Elector Max Joseph of Bavaria was the founder and driving force behind the nearby porcelain factory of Nymphenburg. The factory specialized in figures, but also produced tableware parts after the Meissen model, such as this tureen.
