About this work

Bowl of porcelain, painted on the glaze in blue, red, green, yellow, aubergine, black and gold. Painted in Europe on the exterior with the 'Three Friends of Winter' (bamboo, pine, prunus) at a rock and bound hedges. On a bamboo branch sits a bird. The other side with flowering plants (peony, aster). The interior has the same decoration. Marked in China on the underside with a seal mark in a double circle in underglaze blue. The bowl has been broken. Old label on the underside with 'Collectie Westendorp/ 131'. Decorated in Europe in the Japanese Kakiemon style.
