About this work

Parasol cover of black silk bobbin lace, Chantilly lace. The pattern alternates an oval flower wreath around a striped central field and a console with an upright flower branch and hanging flower garlands. The center has a rosette with radiating stripes and hanging flower branches. The outer shells are formed by veined and mottled leaves. The motifs are connected to each other by a mesh ground with single hexagonal meshes. The motifs are made in netting, with thicker contour threads.
