About this work
Sampler in the form of a strip of linen, finished with an open hem. On it fourteen rows of different patterns of needle lace of different widths. The largest four have the well-known "star" design. The others have checks and hearts; one row with standing elms and various small patterns. The sampler is mounted on cardboard and covered on the front with green silk damask. On the back of the cardboard inscription: MISS BIMPAS, 121 WESTBOURNE TERRACE, LONDON W2. Practice sample; sample card.
