About this work
Strip for a strap of natural-colored lace embroidery, drawn thread work. The pattern consists of a more or less symmetrical composition where two elongated S-scrolls are placed diagonally against each other. A compound leaf or pinecone on a straight line appears as a motif to the left and right of the S-scrolls and vice versa in between. Below the composition with the scrolls is a band with one-sided oriented quadrupeds, possibly dogs, made. The symmetrical pattern is not entirely consistent. The strip is finished on all sides with a scalloped edge of bobbin lace.
