About this work
Handkerchief of natural-colored batist edged with a wide border of bobbin lace: witch lace. Square model with straight sides finished with picots. The pattern consists of a play of lines of C-scrolls with ringed snowflakes, between which a diamond-shaped flower in a pot and a round tree stand above each other. In the corners stands a slightly different but comparable pattern that is placed diagonally. The motifs are made in linen stitch and net stitch and they are connected to each other by a twisted cross stitch ground among others. Notable are the form stitches with which the contours of the diamond shapes and circles are made.
