Tabernacle door with representation of Mary as Mother of Sorrows

The relief is made of red copper sheet, hammered, chased, and punched, then gilded on the front. In the center, Mary as Our Lady of Sorrows is depicted: seated, arms crossed over her chest, head and gaze directed upward. In the frame, at the top, the Sudarium is shown, the veil of St. Veronica bearing the image of Christ with the crown of thorns. The veil is held by an angel assisted by two putti. On the left and right, two cherubs standing on garlands of flowers, as well as the Instruments of the Passion, from bottom left to top: the basket with nails, the hammer and pincers, behind which a cloth with dice, the shield, the lance, the reed with the sponge, the cross with the crown of thorns, the staff and the cloth; on the right bottom, the silver coins, the glove, the lantern, the sword, the torch, the ladder, the rope, the whip, the rod, the pillar, and the rooster. At the bottom, a blank cartouche surrounded by scrollwork with a cherub's head. Below the cartouche the signature: A.
