About this work
Linen damask napkin with flowers, leaves, fruits on branches, a stork, a squirrel and a butterfly. In the center the monogram DRMB, in the upper corners the coat of arms of Rutgers and in the lower corners the coat of arms of Block. The napkin belongs to five napkins (BK-1973-194-A to BK-1973-194-F) made for David Rutgers (1629-1707) and his wife Margaretha Block (1638-1702).
