About this work

Fan consisting of a mother-of-pearl mount and black ostrich feathers. Mount: twenty unadorned legs close together and are held together by a white ribbon. The outer legs have a hollow 'shoulder' after which they begin narrow again and then widen again. Leaf: each leg is lined with a fairly narrow black ostrich feather and covered on the back with black paper. The middle feather is the longest, the next ones run - becoming shorter towards both sides - off.
