About this work

Cloth or spread of needle lace: Brussels mesh lace. Rectangular model. The heart has a symmetrical pattern of a fourfold star of spitz ovals. From the star hang flower garlands to the short sides. Hanging from the garlands are leaf vines. The border has deep wavy C-scrolls from which bouquets rise towards the middle field. The corners have the largest bouquets. Slightly scalloped outer edges. The motifs are made with festoon stitches and provided with thicker and thinner relief contours. Various ornamental stitches and ornamental grounds are applied in many motifs, including lavishly in the C-scrolls. The motifs are connected to each other by a fine mesh ground, a mesh lace ground.
