About this work
Hexagon carpet, Karabagh or Shirwan. Central field: white central band and side bands, on which hexagons alternate with small rhomboids. The hexagons alternately blue and red, the rhomboids of gold ochre, light blue, light yellow and light green. Inside each hexagon stands a cross-shaped flower. Border: the middle probably formed the original main border of the carpet, of which one outer selvage is present, of reciprocal crenellations in dark brown and light blue.
