Overskirt of a wedding dress of appliqué lace with floral bouquets

Overskirt of natural-coloured applied lace: bobbin lace with needle lace decorative stitches - Brussels duchesse - applied to machine-made tulle. Round, straight model, without seam. The overskirt belongs to a lace bridal dress. The pattern increases in density from top to bottom. At the top of the skirt a scattered pattern can be seen of flower branches and short flower garlands. Below the scattered pattern runs a zigzag line, with similar flowers from the scattered pattern. Below the zigzag line a wavy, double ribbon. On each wave crest the ribbon forms a bow, from which hangs a large field bouquet. The field bouquets are alternated by standing field bouquets, which spring from the wave crests of the flower vine along the lower edge of the skirt. This flower vine shows a rich variety of large flowers and leaves. The scallop edge along the bottom of the skirt is formed among others by large grape leaves and daisies. The top is not finished.
