Baptismal cloth of damask with pomegranate motif and bobbin lace border

Baptismal cloth of cream-colored damask with a bobbin lace border: Binche lace. The cloth is made from two strips of silk damask with a repeating motif of a pomegranate and a curling leaf decorated with flowers, and below that a large branch with flowers and leaves. The silk is covered with batiste. On the reverse side, the letters RT are embroidered. The lace pattern consists of a rivière with flower and leaf motifs. The motifs are made in net stitch and linen stitch and are connected by a snowflake ground.
