About this work
Duchesse de Bruxelles plastron with an insert of needle lace. The insert is decorated with a flower branch within a shield-shaped medallion, outlined with volutes. Above, a palmette; below, a large leaf and an oval medallion containing three flowers. The whole has an irregularly sculpted and picoted border of flowers and leaves.
