About this work

Oak chest of drawers veneered with mahogany. The single-curved front contains four drawers; the sides are also single-curved. The piece rests on four legs, the two front legs being splayed and shaped as large claw-and-ball feet, decorated above the claws with a leaf motif. The top is molded and profiled. The bronze fittings, consisting of escutcheons and handles, feature vase, interlaced, and festoon motifs.
