Salad or cucumber tongs

The stems are built up from a small and a large S-shaped volute, separated from each other by a round, profiled on one side and drilled hinge. A screw with a round head fits into the hole, connecting the two stems. Both stems are crowned by a round eye built up from volutes. The egg-shaped spoon bowls are connected to the stems by a single leaf. One bowl is engraved on the underside with flowers within a border of volutes with rocaille motifs and hatched fields; the other is entirely pierced with an asymmetrical pattern of flower, leaf, and rocaille motifs, which are provided with engraved decoration. The head of the screw is engraved with a flower motif. The sides of the large volutes of the stems are hatched with a repeating keel-shaped motif. At the attachment of the bowl, the stems are engraved with a field of lattice work and a rocaille motif surrounded by volutes.
