Knitting needle case, oval, with continuous wave pattern

The knitting needle case, which is oval in cross-section, consists of a closed end, a long middle section open on one side and a closed sliding cap, shaped like the end, which closes over a short smooth part of the case. The end and middle section are separated by a wide profiled band and a similar profiled band runs along the lower edge of the cap. The case is entirely decorated with an engraved continuous wave pattern; on the cap a pointed shield is applied. On the top of the cap the letters GML built up from dots are engraved.
