About this work
Night watchman: On an elongated plate stands a man with a dagger and a stick in his right hand. Probably a bird or a star was attached to the stick. Along the edge of the plate a zig-zag line is engraved. The figure is marked: maker's mark = Amsterdam, year mark = U (1779) and master's mark = Johannes van Geffen and a written letter V.
