About this work
The oval teapot rests on a vaulted foot on a low base. The vaulted, widening body and the vaulted neck are both slightly raised on the sides. Fillet borders run along the top of the foot and along the body. The pot has an S-shaped curved spout and a high ebony handle, which shows two straight corners at the top and has silver mounts. The smooth lid has a ribbed, bulbous ebony knob, crowned by a small ball.
