About this work
Oval vase-shaped silver pepper shaker. The widening body rests on a straight-sided foot. Body and foot slightly raised on the sides. Arched lid with sprinkling holes. A fluted rim along the upper edge of the body. Three round openings in the underside of the base, the middle one larger and with a screw thread. Netherlands? First quarter of the 19th century. Note: presumably part of an oil and vinegar set to which the pepper shaker could be attached via the screw thread.
