About this work
Gown (robe à la française) of lemon-yellow ribbed silk embroidered with silk with vines and purple flowers, consisting of an overskirt (a), an apron (b), a stomacher (c) and a loose piece of silk (d). Model: (a) overskirt, manteau or robe with tailored bodice and flat pleats on the back (Watteau pleat), square neckline, pleats in the front panel and extra facing, half-length sleeves with triple fan-shaped cuff. The skirt consists of seven panels of fabric, which drag slightly on the ground at the back. Slits on both sides in the side seams, allowing access to the loose pockets.
