About this work
Hat of black taffeta. Flat model with oval base and stiff sides reinforced with straw, turned up to a narrow brim. The brim is attached at the back with beads along a line hollowed out for the hair knot. The brim is densely covered with black beads in three zigzag lines. In the center front a bow of a lace loop and several black satin ribbons extending into long chin straps.
