About this work
Girls' sun hat, made of natural-colored straw with black velvet and a corsage in orange, yellow, white, and green. Sewn straps and very fine straw laid crosswise and in overlapping shingle fashion. Moderate crown and wide, flat brim. A black velvet ribbon runs around the crown and ends at the back with a bow. On the front of the brim, a tuft of artificial flowers, glossy and heavily starched.
