About this work

Hat of black, translucent straw. Fine, woven straw, glossy lacquered. Moderate, oval flattened crown, entirely smooth, wider brim at the front, which is turned up on the outside with a hem. The bottom of the crown is cut in a cross and diamond shape and sewn onto black grosgrain silk and then inserted again. A narrow grosgrain ribbon around the crown, which is unfinished at the front and overlaps. Address: Maison Marcel/AMSTERDAM/415 Marnixstraat.
