Armchair with a trapezoidal open space in the backrest

Oak armchair resting on four legs. The front legs are chamfered and rest on black-stained discs with convex sides. The front legs continue into the arm supports and contain a carved black-stained teardrop shape just below the armrest. The rear legs continue into the back stiles and widen from below before tapering upwards at the middle. The backrest consists of three panels. These are shaped so that a triangular form is created at the top and an open trapezoidal form at the bottom. The two outer panels are connected to the black-stained central panel by five beads on each side. The seat is upholstered in black haircloth.
