About this work

Pendulum clock of white marble and gilded bronze under a round glass dome on a mahogany base with a wine-red marabou fabric border. On a round base rest four columns, between which a tuft of leaves and fruit. On top of the cover plate, built up as an entablature, stands a truncated column, around which four vase-shaped ornaments, connected by chains. On the central column the clock; at the front with a door with a round glass pane. On top, a vase on a pedestal with a decorated lid; to the side, floral, leaf, and cord work. The enameled dial bears the signature in red: Deduy A l'Orient.
