About this work
Hat of black velvet chiffon and light brown fur. Low, on a brass base laid in an eight-shape. The front lobe lying flat, the rear lobe, triangular in shape, hanging down and widened with two draped velvet strips. The capeline is of coarse black straw, covered with tulle. The front lobe is trimmed with a narrow edge of beaver or bison(?) fur.
