About this work

Strip of natural-colored batiste with lace embroidery: English embroidery. The repeating pattern consists of two rows of connected openwork marguerites, the rows are staggered and shells are made around the lower flowers, with five embroidered lobes per shell. The strip is cut lengthwise, halfway through the pattern of the upper row of marguerites. The batiste is unfinished at the long and short sides.
