Scarf of black bobbin lace with three rows of lyres (musical instruments)

Shawl of black bobbin lace: blonde. Rectangular shape, made in parts. The pattern consists in the central field of three rows of lyres (musical instrument, predecessor of the harp), each in a wreath of leaves, flowers and berries. The lyres are placed diagonally and stand alternately diagonally upwards or diagonally downwards. The wreaths around the lyres run into each other. Left and right at the end of the rows with lyres, stands a very large feather-shaped leaf that is bent to a half circle, in a further 'empty' field. From the hollow of the leaf spring among others a long ear-shaped flower and a cup flower. The large feather-shaped leaf repeats itself with other flowers in the border of the shawl, where it is linked with split flower branches for a border with large scallops. The motifs are made in linen stitch, with a thicker thread than was used for the ground. The motifs are provided with thick contour threads.
