About this work

Oak armchair resting on four curved legs. The legs are connected by curved rails. The front legs continue into the stretchers for the armrests. The rear legs continue into the back stiles. The backrest consists of a panel with a rounded top at the upper end and a rail at the lower end, with three stiles between them, the middle stile being wider than the other two. On the upper panel, in the center, is a carved braided rosette with pearl borders and inlaid with ebony. The armrests widen towards the front. The seat is trapezoidal and upholstered in red/pink striped silk.
