About this work
Mirror cabinet. Oak, veneered with burr walnut, tulipwood and other woods, inlaid with mirrors painted on the back. Silver mounts. Amsterdam (?), the mirrors probably China, the mounts by Dirk Froger. Two wall-lights. Limewood, gilded. Netherlands, c. 1750. The wall-lights have indentations at the back, showing that they were originally attached to profiles on a panelled wall.
