About this work
The round thimble shows a beehive pattern above a triple border of flowers. The scissors have faceted handles, round stems and steel legs. The needle case has a loose cap. It is round, like the awl and the darning needle. The scissors, the darning needle and the awl are decorated with pearl borders and faceted edges. The sewing kit is in a rounded rectangular ivory box, in which cavities for these objects are cut out.
