About this work
The octagonal object has a wall, which is built up from vertical flat surfaces, which are topped and bottomed with a protruding profile. It has at the top a round hole surrounded by four small holes, in which perhaps a small glass jar was placed. The small holes may have served to place goose quills in them. It was possibly closed by a lid.
