About this work
Earthenware plate with polychrome transfer decoration. On the plate, a face frozen in ice. In the foreground, a boy who has made a mouth impression in the ice. Next to the boy stands a plate with the text: DANGER. Below the image the text reads: "Better he had gone back than to have taken a bad fall." Below the image is inscribed: "ICE AMUSEMENT." The rim of the plate is edged on both sides with a green border.
