About this work

Marionette, boy with curly brown silk hair and a small high hat of paper dressed in a jacket of printed Wiener Werkstätte silk, a shirt of yellow cotton tricot, a red wool tie and knee breeches of black velvet, yellow cotton tricot stockings and shoes of printed Wiener Werkstätte silk. Head of clay with a protruding nose and deep eye sockets, covered with silk tricot provided with blue glass bead eyes, painted eyebrows, mouth and blushes on the cheeks. Stuffed ears of silk tricot attached to the head. A small high hat of black paper worn askew on the head. Body, arms and legs of yellow cotton tricot stuffed with wool(?). A flowered jacket, of silk printed with a fantasy motif in blue and green, with a V-neck and long sleeves with stuffed shoulders. Painted wooden button at the waist. Hands of clay covered with crepe de chine. Straight red wool tie with a headpin pinned to the chin. Knee breeches of black velvet.
