About this work

Round plate of hard-fired earthenware, covered with blue-black lead glaze with spots in light blue, green, yellow-brown, and manganese. The rim is decorated in relief with fields alternating between smooth and filled with lattice work. On the lattice fields alternating an eagle, a trophy, and the portrait of Frederick the Great. On the smooth fields the inscriptions SUCCES TO THE KING, KING OF PRUSSIA, AND HIS FORCES. The plate belongs to a set of five plates (BK-1987-40-A to BK-1987-40-F).
