Tea tablecloth of beige silk with square inserts of light brown bobbin lace

Tea tablecloth of beige silk, finished around with light brown bobbin lace and with twenty-five square inserts of light brown bobbin lace. Square model. The twenty-five inserts are arranged in five rows of five. The inserts have a geometric pattern; there are five variants decorated with, among others, spiders, diamonds and rows of shaped stitches between decorative bands in net stitch. The motifs are connected or not connected by a lattice ground: a twisted cross stitch ground. The border around the cloth has a loop lace pattern with diamonds in which alternately a spider and a diamond, connected by a twisted cross stitch ground. The scallop edge derives from the wavy band running under the diamonds and is made in net stitch. The scallops are finished with point scallops made with a continuous plait with picots.
