President's hammer (A) in a rectangular case (B) of coromandel wood, inlaid with a lighter wood

Gavel in a rectangular box (BK-1994-70-B) made of coromandel wood and a lighter wood species. The hexagonal gavel has a round, widening handle with a long, hexagonal end. The sides of the gavel are inlaid with lighter wood, recessed fields carved with the monogram IEV and with five coats of arms: Dutch lion, sword with laurel wreath, crocodile and fish, palm tree with sword, leafy tree. The hinged lid of the box is inlaid with a lighter wood, recessed field with the monogram IEV in a circle with a border inscription: ick wyck niet uyt ik blyf getrou, and a similar field with a coat of arms.
