About this work

A small (B and C) oval terrine in Louis XVI style decorated with chased cannelures, garlands wrapped with ribbons, appliquéd festoons, and pearl borders. Each terrine has a lid with a knob and stands on four feet. All terrines marked on the bottom: Middelburg; year letter K - 1773; mark P above Prie = Philippus Prié; crowned o = assay mark; axe = tax mark. Terrine BK-1995-14-B is engraved on the inside with N:1. Note: all terrines have an inner bowl.
