Folding Fan of Bone (?) with Carved and Relief-Carved Legs, Depicting Chinese Figures, Houses, and Floral and Plant Motifs on Both Sides

Brisé fan of pierced carved bone with copper locking pin and matching hook, to which a cord with a purple and a green silk tassel is attached. Model: 20 decorated legs, connected to each other by means of a light pink ribbon. Decoration: the standing part of the legs is decorated with a pierced carved pattern of scenes with figures alternating with lacework. The decoration of the handle is formed by a rosette and leaf and flower motifs, both alternating with lacework. On the outer legs three scenes with figures are depicted in relief one above the other, including palmettes and rosettes. At the locking pin a green silk cord is knotted to which a Gordian knot hangs from which a green and a purple tassel hang, both wrapped with gold thread.
