About this work

Length of silk in satin weave with locally woven damask pattern. Design of a square frame built up of whimsical C-scrolls within which two mirrored birds and (lotus) flowers and two radiating suns, also mirrored, are woven in pairs in purple/grey against a plain brown ground. Eastern textile.
