About this work
Strip of silk damask with a design of blocks in horizontal colour bands, filled with respectively trellis and sunflower and goose-eye (band 1), trellis pattern, partially filled with flowers bounded by lightning bolt and small goose-eye (band 3), the blocks intersected by fragments of concentric circles. All this in pink, purple, green, red and silver-white and purple against an orange ground. Oriental textile.
