About this work
Throughout history, different fabrics and heel heights have sometimes been seen as more masculine, sometimes as more feminine. The slippers of green floral silk with gold brocade were part of the court dress of an 18th-century man. The black leather slip-ons were worn by a woman in the 1960s. The design was probably inspired by a men's model.
