About this work
Strip of silk weave (brocatel?) in flat binding with damask effect. Design: palm-shaped bouquets, alternating with a flower rosette framed by floral and leafy scrolls, with geometric fillings in white and brown. The fabric consists of a large piece and a narrow strip of the same silk sewn to the bottom. The design is derived from French silk weaves from the early 18th century. Stamped number 23012 on the back. Label with printed text: French and Co inc.; 23012; brown and white brocade; 17 + 8 inches.
